Why I Cycle
At the age of 18 I felt lost in life. I had just completed my A-levels and I had no idea what I wanted to do. The day after school ended I got a summer job and decided I wanted to cycle from the UK to Portugal. Why Portugal? Well I had a friend in Madrid. When I cycled to school we used to joke, "why don't you cycle to see me in Madrid", so I decided to do it for real. I realised I had an aunt who lived in Portugal, so I thought it's just a week's detour to go see her.
I cycled to Portugal in a few weeks and loved every day of it. When I got there I turned around and went on to Madrid. After my cycle I wanted more, so the next year I headed to Thailand and cycled round south east Asia. After that trip I still wasn't satisfied and I wanted to take on a big project. I decided I should cycle across the world from the UK to Australia. This time I wanted to record every day, so I had a legacy to show to my family.
I aim to show off the beautiful landscapes I travel through, and I'll be partnering with the WWF to help protect them. They are amazing and I want future generations to see them too.
